The company is authorized to underwrite risks, collect premiums, settle claims, and perform other back-office activities for insurers, without bearing any risk itself.

Advice and Remuneration
In the course of its mediation activities, BERNS assekuradeur GmbH offers advice in accordance with statutory requirements. For the successful mediation of an insurance contract, the company receives a commission from the respective insurance company. This commission is already included in the insurance premium; no further remuneration is paid in connection with the mediation. Additionally, BERNS assekuradeur GmbH provides individual services for insurers and risk carriers, which may be rendered independently of mediated insurance contracts and are remunerated separately.

Participations
There are no direct or indirect participations of more than 10% in the voting rights or capital of an insurance company. Likewise, no insurance company holds a corresponding interest in BERNS assekuradeur GmbH.
